This series was inspired by artwork I was asked to do on a friends surfboard that he built himself from wood. I decided to use wood stain instead of paint to preserve the beauty and integrity of the organic wood grain. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome and decided to do a whole series of wood panels painted with stain, paint and metallic ink. I also carried over a nautical theme in the artwork to pay homage to the original work which was on a surfboard.
